Marion G Marhofer Sr.

October 18, 1928 — June 1, 2022

Marion G. Marhofer Sr., 93, of Fresno, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on October 18, 1928 in Pearl, Ohio to the late Otto and Katie (Limbacher) Marhofer. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War. On November, 30, 1957, he married Betty (Brown) Marhofer, who survives.  He worked for 38 years in the brick business, starting out at the Baltic

Brick yard and then Belden Brick until his retirement. Marion was handy and able to fix anything. He worked on Ferguson tractors and rebuilt them in his spare time, as well as helping his neighbors with their tractors. He enjoyed hauling and riding tractors with his buddy, Andy. He was helpful in his Amish community by hauling Amish where ever they needed to go. He was loyal to his memberships in the NRA, VFW of Coshocton, Eagles of Coshocton and 62 years with the Legion of Sugarcreek.

Along with his wife, Marion is survived by his children, Marion G. Marhofer Jr. of Fresno, Mark (Connie) Marhofer of Fresno and Marcia (Rick) Hosfelt of Coshocton; grandchildren, Morgan (Ryan) Norman, Shane (Natalie) Troyer, Nicole (Andrew) Hopkins and Gene (Bri) Hosfelt; great-grandchildren, Colton and Connor Hopkins, Viv Boatman and 2 baby boys on the way; brother, Lyle Marhofer; several nieces, his wonderful neighbors in his community and his beloved dog, Buddy.

Marion is preceded in death by his parents, great-granddaughter, Bre Troyer; nephews, Ross Cain and Rocky Brown as well as his siblings, Vearl (Olive) Marhofer, Gilbert (Arlene) Liendecker, Oscar (Wilma) Liendecker, Cliff (Alverta) Cain and infant sister; lastly, sister-in-law, Linda Marhofer.

Calling hours will be at The Miller Funeral Home on Monday, June 6, 2022 from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Jim Henniger officiating. Burial will follow at Renner’s St. Paul UMC Cemetery where the Coshocton Veterans Council will be performing Military Honors.
