Marjorie A (Groce) Hall

December 7, 1928 — July 18, 2020

Marjorie “Corky” Hall, 91, passed away on Saturday, July 18th, 2020. She was born in Coshocton on December 7th, 1928 to Ruby (Campbell) and Donald Groce.

Corky remained a life-long resident of Coshocton where she graduated from Coshocton High School, worked and raised her family. She had various jobs over the years, but most notably being the owner of the Newsstand on Main Street. She was also known well from working at Pretty Products and as a waitress at Andy’s restaurant. Her last “job” was more of a passion, doing alterations for many people in the community. She especially enjoyed helping brides and prom attenders make their dresses “just right”. Corky loved sports; she was an avid golfer and bowler back in the day and enjoyed watching many sporting events. She attended Grace United Methodist church and most recently Roscoe United Methodist. Her cornmeal mush was always a hit at bazaars. Corky had an exuberant personality and a servant’s heart. Her love of people, serving others and the Lord, working hard, and enjoying life are all traits she instilled in her family. We will be forever grateful for her and she will be missed terribly.

Corky is survived by her children Pete (Nona) Hall, Sam Hall, Denny Hall, and Pidget (Kevin) Berry; grandchildren Derek Hall, Lesley (Jordan) Runner and Corlee “Lexi” Hall; one great-granddaughter Luna Runner; many cousins and nephews and a very close friend Doris Smith.

Along with her parents, Corky is preceded in death by her husband Paul Hall and her two sisters Ellen (Bob) Ferne and Dorothy (Jack) Ames.

Per Corky’s wishes a cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held at South Lawn Cemetery of Coshocton on Friday, July 24th, 2020 at 2:00pm with Pastor Dale Sutton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter 21755 Township Rd 164, Coshocton, OH 43812.
