Marlyce Parker, 65, of Coshocton, Ohio passed away at her home on June 4, 2012 after a long struggle with cancer. Marlyce was born and raised in Baltimore, MD to the late Leon and Myrna (Wettelend) Rustad on August 23, 1946. She graduated from Andover High School, Frostburg State College (B.A.) and Kent State University (M.A.). She married her high school sweetheart Dane in 1967. They moved to Ohio in 1968 where she taught 4th grade for four years. Marlyce obtained her Master's Degree and became a guidance counselor at Glenoak for 10 years. She also taught kindergarten in Massillon for 5 years before retirement to rural Coshocton County. After retirement, she enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones. Marlyce also treasured singing in the choir, playing bridge and appreciating nature's beauty. She was a great friend to many people. She is survived by her devoted husband Dane Parker; two loving sons Erik (Angela) Parker and Gregg Parker both of Massillon; 3 grandchildren Cole, Josie and Zane; two sisters Rae (Galen) Otto of Ashland, OR and Janet (Tom) Baker of Forest, VA; and two nieces. Per her wishes, there will not be any public calling hours or services. To her husband of 44 years she was a "Norwegian Princess", a wife, a lover, a mother, a counselor but most of all a best friend. She will be greatly missed until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coshocton Community Choir and/or The Presbyterian Church Choir in Coshocton.
