Martha Jane Fulgium, 74, of Highland Blvd., Coshocton, died at 5:40 PM, Tuesday March 13, 2012 at Kindred Center. Martha was born March 16, 1937 in Coshocton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Lucy (Smith) Henderson. She was a 1955 graduate of Coshocton High School. She furthered her education at Mount Union University, majoring in English and foreign language. Later, she graduated from Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for 44 years. She retired from Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. Martha was an active member of the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette, Ohio, and the Ohio Nurses Association. Her interests included reading, traveling, shopping and watching sports, especially the Cleveland Indians. Collecting cookbooks was one of her hobbies, as well as caring for others. She was fond of dogs and acted as a caregiver for the pets of family and friends. Martha is survived by her brother, Joe (Ruth) Henderson of Coshocton, niece Joellen (Brian) Bordenkircher of Coshocton, great nephews Brent and Scott Bordenkircher of Coshocton, dear friend and caregiver, Carol Matteson of Killbuck, and good friends, Gladys Roadruck and Bea Shaw. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy Henderson, niece Jennifer Henderson, and husbands, James Foster and Walter Eugene Fulgium. To honor Martha's wishes, no public visiting hours were observed. A private graveside service was held in South Lawn Cemetery with Rev. David Kraft officiating. The Miller Funeral Home of Coshocton served the family. The family wants to express their thanks to the Hospice staff and volunteers for their help during this stressful time.
