Mary Maxine Corder

March 9, 1926 — June 19, 2016

Mary Maxine Corder, 90, of Adams Mills passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 6:40PM on Sunday June 19, 2016 at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.  She was born in at home in Adams Mills on March 9, 1926 to the late Dennis and Minnie (Cullison) Sowers.

Mary was a 1944 graduate of Jefferson High School and worked as an assistant Post Master of Adams Mills.  She also sold Avon for 50 years, worked at Longaberger as a tour guide for 10 years, and bred and showed Arabian Horses.  Some of Mary’s hobbies included cooking and baking for her family and friends, playing cards, music and dancing, attending horse shows, and socializing with people of all ages, but also loved her private time by relaxing with her family, cats, and horses.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Mary is survived by her children Kenneth L. (Corliss) Corder of Newark, Nancy D. Darner of Adams Mills, and Debbie D. (Jerry) Kaufman of Adams Mills; grandchildren Chad (Colleen) Trego of Batavia, Jennifer (Berry) Bedford of Delaware, Nicole (Kevin) Lacy of Reynoldsburg,  Jessica (Nate) Murphy of Mt. Vernon, Stephen (Laura) Corder of Beavercreek, Marcia (Terry) Pettet of Newark, and Warren (Becky) Corder of Johnstown; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandson and she was excitedly awaiting the birth of a great granddaughter next month; nephew Ronnie Sowers of Adams Mills and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Delbert Leroy Corder; brother Everett Sowers; sister Hazel Hawkins; step brother Howard Billman; son-in-law Jack Darner.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday June 24, 2016 from 11:00AM – 1:00PM with funeral services beginning at 1:00PM with Rev. Jim Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Mills Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be directed towards Christ Table or the Coshocton County Animal Shelter.
