Mary Caroline (Stockdale) Thompson, 102, of Coshocton passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Truman Hospice House in New Philadelphia. She was born in Londonderry, OH on March 20, 1921, to the late Robert Edgar and Mary Jane “Jenny” (Lake) Stockdale.
Mary was raised in Londonderry and graduated from Madison High School in 1939. In 1940 Mary graduated from Cadi School of Cosmetology in Columbus, OH. She married her husband, Marion Thompson in 1941.
Mary and Marion owned and operated Sunoco Filling Station on Main Street, until his death in 1966. Mary went to work for Stewart Surveying Company and later went to the Coshocton County Engineers Office. She retired in 1983 and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
Mary loved her girls, family, and friends. She enjoyed vacations with family, dinner with friends, and trips to Florida for the winter.
Mary is survived by her two daughters Carolyn (Mark) Zinkon of Pickerington and Ann (Larry) Hill of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren Chris (Ardra) Zinkon and Zach (Barbie) Zinkon; four great grandsons Henry, Spencer, Oliver, and Ryan.
Her family would like to thank a host of friends and caregivers for their love, support, and care throughout the years. They would like to especially thank Lori Holmes from All Nation Healthcare for taking such great care of Mary and providing the support she needed to live comfortably in her own home. Thanks also to Community Hospice Truman House and the Emmanuel Lutheran Church for their love and support.
Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, OH 43812 on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 11:00am – 12:00pm with funeral services beginning at 12:00pm with Pastor Bryan Kittner officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Coshocton or Community Hospice; Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
