Mary Jo Ann “Jody” Powers, 81, of Coshocton passed away Saturday February 7, 2015 at Lafayette Pointe Rehab and Nursing Home in West Lafayette. Jody was born in Columbus on June 11, 1933 to the late Franklin and Rita (Shearn) Hallsman.
She graduated from Nelsonville High School and St. Francis School of nursing. She was a nurse throughout her life working at several medical facilities including the Heritage House in Columbus. Jody was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and she loved spending time at home with her family.
Jody is survived by her four children Betsy (Bob) Schutz of Findlay, Ohio, David (Lisa) Powers of Coshocton, Ann (Lennie) Jarvis of Coshocton and Patrick (Ginny) Powers of West Lafayette; eleven grandchildren Katie (Zack) Wolf, Molly (Zach) Maas, Matt, Rebecca, Caroline and Emma Schutz, Steffinee, Bobby and Abby Powers, Drew and Joey Jarvis; four step grandchildren Angie (Chris) Bryant, Ryan (Molly) Guilliams, Angie (Pat) Laaper, Nathan (Heather) Jarvis; four great grandchildren; fifteen step great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard Powers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 805 Main St., Coshocton on Thursday February 12, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Father Victor Wesolowski officiating. A time of visitation with Jody’s family will be available just following the funeral mass.
Interment will take place in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio at 2:30 PM.
