Melvin Eugene Wallace, age 71, of West Lafayette passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at his home. He was born in Athens, Ohio on May 2, 1951 to the late Jack and Molly (Howell) Wallace.
He graduated from Alexander High School in Albany, Ohio and continued his education with a BS in Zoology at Ohio University and a Doctoral Degree from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist until his retirement from The Coshocton Regional Medical Center. In retirement, he obtained his real estate license selling housing for a short time. Mel was a hard worker and always took pride in his work.
Mel was a true entertainer whether it was an Elvis impersonating as “Melvis,” singing karaoke, line dancing, clogging, performing in plays or hosting parties. He always kept himself busy and never knew a stranger and was truly one of a kind.
Melvin leaves behind a daughter, his pride and joy, Stephanie (Dusty Mullins) Wallace of Stone Creek; sister, Jackie Krasky of West Lafayette; nieces and nephews, Angela Wright, Brian Krasky and Carrie Brock; aunt and uncles, Lillian Haning and William and Wayne Howell; as well as dear friends, Cheryl Osborn, Tammy Veverka and Jan Pumneo.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Randy Wallace.
A cremation will take place with the Miller-Kaser Cremation Services. Calling hours will be at The Miller Funeral Home at 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm.
