Life Legacy
Merlin E. "Moe" Saxton, 81, of Coshocton passed away at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital on January 20, 2013.
Moe was born in Coshocton to the late James and Treva (Lillibridge) Saxton on August 2, 1931.
He graduated from Coshocton High School, served in the US Air Force from 1951-1955 and retired from Shaw-Barton/JII after 37 years of service. Moe was an avid golfer and loved caring for his neighborhood cats.
He is survived by his son Rick E. (Pam) Saxton; sister Linda (Jim) Miller; uncle Wayne (Eleanor) Lillibridge all of Coshocton; daughter in law Kimberly S. Saxton of Dunn, NC; grandchildren Tyler L. (Kristyn) Saxton of South Lebanon, OH, Shannon C. (Scott) Slaughter of Newark, Stacey D. (Glen) Jolivette of Hawaii; one great grandson Nash S. Slaughter; special friends Dolly and Greg Fitch of Coshocton. Along with his parents, Moe is preceded in death by his wife Patricia A. Saxton whom he married August 17, 1951 and passed away July 21, 2007; two sons James E. and Jack E. Saxton and a granddaughter Cassie R. Saxton.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Prairie Chapel Cemetery on Wednesday January 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Charles Warren officiating. The Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors as well.
