Merrill G. Dunfee Jr., 92, of Coshocton went to be with his Lord and Savior, and his wife and infant daughter on Wednesday September 20,2017.
Merrill was born in Coshocton on October 16, 1924 to the late Merrill G. and Goldie (Craig) Dunfee Sr..
After graduating high school he served in the US Army and US Army Air Corp from 1943-1946. Merrill retired after 40 years from Stone Container in Coshocton.
Merrill was a man of many talents and had a kind giving heart. He volunteered as a Cub Scout Leader, 4-H Advisor, donated time for the Red Cross and taught hunting safety courses. He was an advocate for children donating time and funds to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, MT.
He was also a member of the Church of God in Coshocton, loved to hunt and fish and he especially enjoyed his time traveling with his wife and children.
He is survived by his children Darrell (Carol) Dunfee and Crystal (Victor) Shaver both of Coshocton; grandchildren Christy (Kent) Proudfit, Vicky (Michael) Miller, Darla (Brian) Foster and Darlene (Jack) Nixon; great grandchildren Dominic, Trevor, Mikey, Mariah, Jazzmyne, Matthew, Davina and Kelesha; several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Helen L. Dunfee whom he married July 4. 1947, Helen passed away in 2005; an infant daughter Linda Sue Dunfee; three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday September 25, 2017 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM where funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jim Childers officiating. Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Labre Indian School, P.O. Box 216, Ashland, MT 59003, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
