Michael Lyons

Michael Lyons, age 73, of Coshocton, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on August 21, 1947 to the late Fredrick and Ruth (Jones) Lyons in Coshocton. Mike graduate from Ohio University with a bachelor’s in accounting and worked as a CPA at local manufacturing companies. He was also a United States Army Veteran. On December 12, 1982, he married Ruby (Hardesty) Lyons, who survives. Mike was an avid Buckeyes and Browns fan. He also enjoyed watching golf and supporting his grandchildren on the golf course. He and his wife, Ruby enjoyed many card clubs and games. Mike will also be known for his great jokes.

Mike is survived by his four children, Mindy Edie and Adam Lyons of Coshocton and two stepsons, Dr. Terrance (Maria) Smalley Jr. of North Carolina and Erik (Kim) Smalley of Colorado; grandchildren, Xavier, Jayzee and Jaeger Edie, Kyla, Ava and Julia Geer, Alex and Katrina Smalley and Logan Stratton; siblings, Sharon Dunn of Florida, Jackie Li of Florida, Carol (Bob) Olinger of Coshocton and Leslie Dorobek of Oregon as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Bobby Stanton and brothers-in-law, William Stanton, Bruce Rose and Tom Dunn.

Per his wishes, Mike will be cremated near his beautiful, bloomed Azalea Garden, in the spring.
