Oneita Mildred Hahn

Oneita M. Hahn, 96, a life-long resident of West Lafayette passed away at Autumn Health Care of Coshocton on Wednesday April 6, 2011. Oneita was born in Pearl, Ohio on October 14, 1914 to the late William and Caroline Grogro. She attended school in Pearl, Fresno and Baltic, Ohio, graduating from Fresno in 1931 (three years of school) and her senior year at Baltic High School in 1932. She was one of two surviving members of the 1932 class of 23 students. On January 19, 1937 she married Henry Hahn, who passed away on February 19, 1939. Aunt Oneita and Henry lived with Grandma Grogro at the Charles Wentz (now the Charles Lower farm) after they were married, Henry worked on the farm. Oneita has been a lifelong resident of West Lafayette. She loved gardening, participating in Grange and church activities, visiting with family, friends and neighbors. She is a 75 year member of Progressive Valley Grange, having held several offices and a member of Renner's United Church of Christ, Fresno. She is survived by her three nephews William (Ruth Anne deceased) Wentz, Larry (Paula) Wentz both of Coshocton and Donald (Barbara) Hahn both of West Layafette; three nieces Cheryl L. (D. Michael) Wilson, Carole S. (Rex) Dusenberry both of Coshocton and Susan E. (Steven) Storm of Fresno; numerous great nieces and great nephews also survive. Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister Marjorie E. (Victor deceased) Wentz, a nephew Victor Gene (Alice Wentz of West Lafayette) Wentz, great nephew David (Tracy Wentz of West Lafayette) Wentz and great nephew Robert Dusenberry. Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton on Sunday from 2-5 PM where funeral services will be held on Monday April 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Sharon Jacobsen officiating. Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Progressive Valley Grange and/or Renner's Church of Christ, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
