Orville G Parks

Orville G. Parks, 93, of Coshocton passed away at Autumn Health Care in Coshocton on Friday August 30. 2013.

Orville was born in Centerville, Ohio on May 14, 1920 to the late William H. and Minnie (Pryor) Parks.  He attended Sharon High School until he left to serve in the United States Army overseas during World War II.

He was a truck driver and mechanic throughout most of his life working for several different companies.  Orville was a member of the 1 st Church of Christ in Coshocton and V.F.W. 2040.

He is survived by his children Melvin (Judy) Parks of Coshocton, Shirley (Larry) Guinther of Killeen, TX, Joann (Carl) Boyd of Newcomerstown and Betty (Gary) Mullens of Coshocton; daughter in law Norma Parks of Coshocton; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a special canine companion Ginger.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Parks whom passed away on October 24, 1993; a son Gerald Parks; infant daughter Nancy Parks; one grandchild; three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday September 2, 2013 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Clarence Lawson officiating.  Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery where Coshocton County Veterans Council will perform military honors.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Autumn Health Care Activities Department, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
