Life Legacy
Robert Raymond Page, 93 of Coshocton died on August 23, 2012 at the home of his daughter and son in law Randy Sue (Page) and James McKeever.
He was the son of James Phillip Harrison and Linnie Linn (Craig) Page born in Dundas, Ohio on October 21, 1918. He graduated in 1936 from McArthur High School in Vinton County, Ohio. He married his high school sweetheart Opal M. Gates in 1941.
After high school he graduated from Detroit Mechanic and Body Shop School and opened his own business for 14 years in Dundas, Ohio. The call to duty for WWII came and he went to the US Army Air Force where he graduated at the top of his class in airplane mechanics and became the lead teacher. He served in that capacity for 4 years in North Carolina and Florida.
Following this Robert felt the need to help souls reach Heaven. So using his GI Bill he graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville Tennessee with a Bachelors degree in Bible. Then continued on to Harding University where he received two Masters Degree in Religious Education and Bible. Upon graduation in 1956 he became head professor at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas while also preaching in various places around the area he lived and worked. He also was a professor in Dunedin Bible College in New Zealand.
With his family he moved to his first full time preaching job in Valporaiso, Indiana. He then felt the call to become a missionary and went to Australia and New Zealand for almost 8 years. He returned to preach in numerous places in Indiana. In 1978 he made Coshocton his final place to preach, where he preached for 2 congregations in Coshocton and lived here for the past 35 years.
He is survived by his son Robert E. (Judy) Page of Bowling Green, KY and daughter Randy Sue (Jim) McKeever of Coshocton; the grandfather of 8, great grandfather of 11 and great great grandfather of 3; as well as numerous foster grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Nellie (Page) Jordan and John Page and his wife Opal Page who died in 2009.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Sunday August 26, 2012 from 2-4 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with Lloyd Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery with Coshocton County Veterans Council performing military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to Potter Childrens Home Family Service and/or the Coshocton Church of Christ, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
