Robert E. “Bob” Spitler, 103, of Coshocton passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Windsorwood Place.
Bob was born in Fairfield County, Ohio on August 27, 1920 to the late Arlie and Margery (Parrish) Spitler. He graduated from Millersport High School and served in the United States Air Force. Bob served during WWII in the 127 Air Depot Group repairing fighter planes. He was member of the longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Masons, Shriners, Coshocton Elks Lodge and V.F.W. Bob built, owned and operated Spitler’s Family Restaurant, the Roscoe Motor Inn and Airy View Heights Subdivision. He was proud of his membership in the Ohio Restaurant Association.
He is survived by his children Michael “Mike” (Michele) Spitler of Pickerington and Kimberly “Kim” (Mike) Jamison of Coshocton; grandchildren Angie Mulholland and Matt (Jessica) Jamison; great grandchildren Victoria and Bennett Muholland, Allie and Jillian Jamison; brother, Fred Spitler of Phoenix, AZ; previous wife, JoAnn Randles and her family; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death his wife of 52 years, Davaun (Wolford) Spitler; siblings William Spitler, Erma Gobert, Juanita Cooperrider, and Jim Spitler; and grandson in law Brent Mulholland.
Friends may call at Miller Funeral Home on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 11am to 1pm. A funeral service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Deb Quillen officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery with Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing Military Honors.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church, Stained Glass Fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
