Robert “Bob” Allen Priest, 56, formerly of Coshocton, Ohio died on December 27, 2013.
Bob was born in Coshocton on February 10, 1957, he was the son of Alletta Leigh and the late Robert F. Priest.
Throughout his teenage years, Bob held various jobs, including working at Young’s IGA. After graduating from Coshocton High School in 1975, he served in the US Army from 1975-1977 as an artillery surveyor. Following his military service, Bob earned a surveying degree from Muskingum Area Technical College. He worked as a surveyor in Toledo, Ohio, Rochester, NY, St. John’s, MI and most recently was the surveying department head for Bowman Consulting in Pittsburg, PA. Bob held surveying licenses in Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia and taught surveying courses at Bowling Green State Univeristy. Always a hard worker, Bob took time off to enjoy the outdoors. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting, fishing, and also remodeling houses. He was a member of the NRA, an AMVETS life member and served for many years as the treasurer of the Toledo Chapter of Duck’s Unlimited.
Bob is survived by his mother and step father Alletta (Gene) Leigh of Coshocton; brothers Mike (Sara) Priest of Warsaw, Jim (Karen) Priest of Chili, Tim Priest of Coshocton; step brother Todd (Tammy) Leigh; step sister Teres (Jamie) Smith; five nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his father Robert and brother Thomas H. Priest.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St. on Monday December 30, 2013 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:30 PM with Pastor Chris Cutshall officiating. Interment will follow in Canal Lewisville Cemetery where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors.
