Life Legacy

Roy L. Copeland, 71, of West Lafayette passed away at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital on Saturday March 31, 2012. Roy was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 10, 1941 to the late Roy and Bernice (Reeder) Copeland. He had retired from US Steel Corporation, after retirement he worked in St. Petersburg, FL at an assisted living facility as a security guard before becoming ill. He was an avid fisherman, also enjoyed collecting guns and fishing rods. Roy is survived his children Keith Copeland of Vermillion, Ohio, Kevin (Brenda) Copeland of West Lafayette, Kim (Cory) Bates of Coshocton and Melissa Thorne of West Lafayette; brother Tom (Jean) Copeland of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; grandchildren Amber (Randy) Turner, Kyle and Kayla Copeland, Gregory and Zachary Queen, Samantha (Philip) Clyde, Ashley Bates, Cory Bates, William Silknitter, Destinie Bates, Jessica Burke and Michael Welker; great grandchild Harlan Copeland; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Copeland and infant daughter Debbie Copeland. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday April 4, 2012 from 6-7 PM where memorial services will begin at 7 PM with Pastor Steve Young officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
