Roy H. Hoffman, 84, of Coshocton passed away at his home on Tuesday February 8, 2011 with his family by his side. Roy was born to the late Herman and Naomi (Harmon) Hoffman in Tuscarawas, County on May 22, 1926. He served in the US Army during WWII and worked for Cyclops, now AK Steel for most of his life. Roy was a member of the V.F.W. 1330 and the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Martha J. (Eckelberry) Hoffman to whom he married on February 19, 1950; two children Bonnie (Shorty) Truex of Newcomerstown and Alvin (Pat) Hoffman of Coshocton; grandchildren Amy (Lynn) Mendenhall, Brandon (Jen) Truex, Chad (Jenny) Truex, Raymond Truex Jr., DeAnna McKee, Courtney (Jonathan) Hill, Michael (Julee) Johnson, Nicole Benedict and Kristi (Jesse) Queen; twenty great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and his little buddy Tanner. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Sunday February 13, 2011 from 2-5 PM. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jon Truax officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Port Washington with the Newcomerstown Veterans Council performing military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
