Russell W Dickerson

Russell W. Dickerson, 87, of Coshocton passed away at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital on Sunday February 1, 2015.

Russell was born in Coshocton on January 5, 1928 to the late Russell E. and Edna M. (Wilson) Dickerson.

He graduated from Coshocton High School and served in the United States Navy during WWII.  Russell retired from Novelty Advertising Company as the Plant Superintendent.  He was a member of the American Legion and St. John’s United Church of Christ.  He spent many years being Santa Claus and a Shrine Clown, loved crafting, woodworking, gardening  and spending time at home with family and friends.

Russell is survived by his wife Jean (Meek) Dickerson who he married on September 19, 1949; two sons Steve (Ilene) Dickerson of Olympia, WA and Jeff (Susie) Dickerson of Coshocton; three grandchildren Shoshana Dickerson, Christopher Dickerson and Lance Dickerson; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his special canine companion Josie.  Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Della Jane Lapp.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday February 4, 2015 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.  Funeral services for Russell will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Philip Hunt officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Central Christian Church, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
