Ruth Ellen Opphile

Ruth Ellen Opphile, 77, of West Lafayette passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at OSU James Cancer Hospital in Columbus.  She was born in Coshocton, OH on August 22, 1946 to the late Raymond L. and Mary Ellen (Young) Lawrence.

Ruth worked as dispatcher for Jim's Towing and enjoyed volunteering and fundraising for good causes, sewing and quilting and just being on the go. She attended Gospel Hill Church and loved her cat, Luna.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Jacquelyn Opphile; son Kim Allen Lawrence; 5 grandchildren Chase Jackson, Paige Jackson, Kendal Jackson, Ricky Lawrence and Shawna Stottlemire; twin great-grandsons Isaac & Owen Pritchard; brother Bill (Debbie) Lawrence; and nephews Jim and Mike Lawrence and Chad and Brad Opphile.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Opphile, who passed away April 23, 2020; and brother Donald Lawrence.

Graveside services will be held at Coshocton County Memory Gardens on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the Coshocton Animal Shelter.
