Ruth Ellen Patrick

Ruth Ellen “Ellen” Patrick, 80, of West Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, June 30th, 2022 at Lafayette Pointe Care Center. She was born in Coshocton on November 21, 1941 to Ruth (Hodges) Groff, who survives, and Carl Groff, who preceded her in death.

In addition to her mother, Ellen is survived by her daughter and grandchildren, Lisa Esmond and Abigail, Annalise and Ian of Dublin, son and granddaughter, Bill Moreland of West Lafayette and Rachel Moreland of Alabama, great-granddaughters Riley, Trinity and Lyndsey, and aunt Jane (Hodges) Johnson. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Wanda, stepdaughter-in-law Beth Patrick and many step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy “Ed” Patrick and stepson Randy Patrick, both of Newcomerstown, and many loved aunts, uncles and cousins.

She graduated from Fresno High School in 1958 and attended nursing school before marrying in 1964 and moving to California. She returned to Ohio in 1968 and to Coshocton County in 1979 where she remained for the rest of her life. She enjoyed music, watching her husband dirt-track car racing, flower gardening, reading and word puzzles as well as spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family is exceedingly grateful for the loving end-of-life care that Ellen received from Interim Hospice and Lafayette Pointe.  A graveside service for immediate family will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Fresno.  Arrangements are being handled by Miller Funeral Home in Coshocton.
