Samuel D. Maple Sr

September 21, 1943 — February 18, 2022

Samuel D. Maple, 78, of West Lafayette passed away on Friday February 18, 2022, at his home.

He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on September 21, 1943, to the late Jesse L. Maple Sr. and Carrie (Freetage) Maple.

Sam worked at Penn Michigan and the retired from the Coshocton County Engineers Office after thirty years of service.  Sam sincerely enjoyed all his years working for the Coshocton County Highway Department and his coworkers, it was some of his best memories, he treasured being a part of their team.  He also loved spending time with his family, birdwatching and feeding the squirrels.

Sam is survived by his son Sam (Angela) Maple Jr. of Newcomerstown; one grandson Tyler Maple of West Lafayette; siblings William (Melody) Maple and Bernard (Faye) Maple both of West Lafayette; brother-in-law Avery Dotson; and several very special nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Linda S. Maple who passed away in 2015; siblings Nathan Maple, Myrtle Hardy, Harold Maple, Jesse Lee Maple and Maxine Dotson.

Graveside services will be held at Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette on Tuesday February 22, 2022, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Steve Young and Pastor Pat Peebles officiating.
