Shirley Ann (Lanning) Fairchild, 77, of Coshocton passed away at Morrison House Hospice, Zanesville on Friday December 28, 2012 at 12:40 AM.

She was born on March 9, 1935 to the late Samuel W. and Freda K. (Sager) Lanning in Canton, Ohio, but was raised in Coshocton County.

Shirley loved spending time with her family, doing crossword puzzles, reading and being outside when she could. She was a 50+ year member of Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, 60 year member of Bethlehem Grange, 50+ year member of Order of Eastern Star and life member of Second (Indian Head) Division Association. Auxiliary and Guernsey County DAV Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son William Charles "Chuck" (Cindy) Ishmael and daughter Christine K. (Clayton) King all of Coshocton; step daughter Betty (Norbert) Kuntzsch of Germany; three grandchildren Christopher and Jonathon Ishmael and Anna King all of Coshocton; step granddaughter Nicole (Mark) Newlin of Colorado Springs, CO; step grandson Marcus Kuntzsch of Germany; step great granddaughter Amy Newlin of Colorado Springs, CO; several other family members. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Lee Fairchild whom she married on August 25, 1982 in Texas.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Funeral services for Shirley will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Philip Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in Canal Lewisville Cemetery.
