Shirley "Jean" Miller of Fresno passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at her home. She was born on September 11, 1949 in Coshocton to the late Abe and Nancy (Mounts) Stokes. She was a part of the first graduating class of River View High School. On January 2, 1971, she married John Miller, who survives. She worked part time at Coshocton Tire and also spent many years taking care of her home and family. In her younger years, Jean enjoyed riding horses. Recently, she made weekly trips to Hardee's to talk with others and enjoyed lottery tickets. Most of all, the Christmas Season was Jean's favorite time of year. She took time to decorate inside their home but it did not compare to her display outside. She had lights and decorations and at times had over 100 inflatables. She loved the enjoyment others got out of driving by and viewing her display. She welcomed calls from others that wanted to be sure her display was up and running.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her son, John (Kristie) Miller II and grandson, Zane Miller.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Paulette "Polly" Sturtz and Gary "Joe" Stokes.
Calling hours will be on Friday, December 20, 2024 at The Miller Funeral Home from 10am to 11am. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 11am with Pastor Lloyd Tenney officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
