Sondra L (Bates) Allen

Sondra L. Allen, 77, of West Lafayette passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center. She was born in Noble County on December 2, 1946 to the late Lawrence and LaNelle (Johnson) Bates.

Sondra retired from Wal-Mart after working there for 25 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sondra is survived by her two daughters Shelly Schlupp of Newcomerstown, Wendy Allen of West Lafayette; two sons, Tracy (Joann) Allen and David Allen both of West Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings Jill Reeves, Lorry (Jim) Batchhalder, Scott Bates and Lawrence “Larry” Bates Jr.; special friend Linda McPeak; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar J. Allen Jr., who passed away in 2017; infant twin daughters, Shawn and Dawn Allen; and son-in-law Alfred “Fred” Schlupp; and daughter-in-law Michelle Allen.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the residence of his son Tracy Allen, 504 E. Main St. West Lafayette.
