Steven W. Grace, 64, of Coshocton, passed away at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 16, 2012. Steve was born in Coshocton to the late Walter and Gaynelle (Ely) Grace on August 20, 1947. A 1965 graduate of Coshocton High School, Steve's years in the workforce started at a young age delivering newspapers for the Coshocton Tribune, and several years at Young's IGA in Coshocton. Steve was a meat cutter for 40 years with Kroger in Coshocton and other locations before retiring in 2009 from the Newark store. It was his profession that gave him his commonly known nickname "Beef." Steve was a member of Roscoe United Methodist Church, Coshocton Elks Lodge and Coshocton Eagles Lodge. He spent over 30 years umpiring softball games at Lake Park. Steve loved sports, playing cards and his trips to Wheeling Island. He is survived by his loving wife Pamela K. (Parks) Grace who he married on October 14, 1967; two devoted daughters Tammy (Brad) Hess of West Lafayette and Valerie (Kwabena Omari "Kujo") Boateng of Coshocton; sister Barbara (Larry) Fortner of Coshocton; grandchildren Derek Grace, Hanna Hess, Jacey Hess, Brayden Lewis, Von Agyekum, Nela Wiredu; sister-in-law Mary (Paul) Leary of Coshocton; niece Wendy (Dan) Crist of Strongsville; great-nephew Alex Crist; several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew Jeff Fortney and mother-in-law Lillian Parks. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton on Thursday, April 19, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Elks services will begin at 8 p.m. on Thursday evening. Funeral services for Steve will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Coralee Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to Roscoe United Methodist Church and/or the United Way of Coshocton County, envelopes will be available at the funeral home
