Viola Zinkon, 96, of Coshocton passed away at Autumn Extended Care on Tuesday November 25, 2014.
Viola was born in Coshocton County on October 22, 1918 to the late Orb and Emma (Neiss) Schlarb. She graduated from Fresno High School, class of 1936 and was a homemaker throughout her life. Viola was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and also attended the Fresno Bible Church. She was also a member of Keene Hill Grange for 66 years.
She is survived by her children Gary Zinkon of West Virginia and Sally (Larry) Leindecker of Coshocton; six grandchildren Ed (Bambi) Zinkon, JoAnna (Kevin) Fillman, Yancey (Rose) Zinkon, Grant (Jennifer) Zinkon, Eric (Kristi) Leindecker and Jan (Adam) Mrozinski; thirteen great grandchildren Adam Fitch, Kelby (Matthew) Swigert, Laini, Joy and Luke Leindecker, Ross and Cole Fillman, Ellie and Colton Mrozinski, Andrew, Ashley and Aiden Zinkon and Ella Cate Zinkon; brother Kenneth Schlarb of Coshocton; sister in law Jean Schlarb of Coshocton.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Zinkon whom she married December 20, 1941, Ernest passed away on May 10, 2005; two brothers Richard and Carl Schlarb; one sister Melba Roberts.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home on Friday November 28, 2014 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral services for Viola will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Brian Kitner and Pastor Chris Cutshall officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church Relay for Life Team and/or Fresno Bible Church Relay for Life Team, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
