Vonda E Berger

Vonda E. Berger, 78, of Stocker Ridge passed away at Riverside Manor in Newcomerstown on Sunday April 2, 2017.

Vonda was born in Oxford Twp., Tuscarawas County on January 15, 1939 to the late Charles Ray and Sylvia Pearl (Fansler) Welch.  She attended Kent State Tuscarawas County Campus for one year and was a homemaker throughout her life.  Vonda was a charter member of Valley View Baptist Church where she was a song leader for a long time.  She loved canning, cooking, playing the piano, collecting dolls and collecting anything with elephants on them.

She is survived by her three daughters Cheryl L. Hootman and Denise D. (James) Johnson both of Newcomerstown and Darla E. (Joseph) Doyle of Cincinnati; one son Robert E. (Debra) Berger of Cincinnati; six grandchildren Lori (Tony) Dallacheisa, Julie Johnson, Andrew, Amanda, Bethany and Benjamin Berger; a brother Rollin “Dode” (Juanita) Welch of Newcomerstown; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Robert E. “Bob” Berger whom she married May 29, 1953, Bob passed away on October 21, 2003; two brothers Kenneth and Dennis Welch; a son in law Gerald Hootman Jr. and grandson Donald Wayne Herbert II.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Thursday April 6, 2017 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM where a funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM with Pastor William “Sonny” Ramsay officiating.

A cremation will take place after the funeral services and burial of her cremated remains will take place in West Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
