William Foster

January 20, 1945 — October 25, 2024

William "Bill" Lynn Foster, Sr, 79 of Coshocton Ohio slipped away peacefully with his family by his side at 2:50pm Friday October 25th, 2024. After receiving an anoxic brain injury in May of 2021. Bill fought many medical conditions and obstacles put in front of him. Not once did he face them with fear, but defied every doctor he ever met.

Bill was the salt of the earth man in a gentle giant's body. He had a genuinely warm, welcoming smile. He enjoyed deer and mushroom hunting. He loved drag racing and talking about cars and also loved spending time with family. Although he was a quiet man, when he spoke you listened. You knew it was coming from the kindest heart and a mind that was wise. Bill had the driest sense of humor, so when he had something funny to share, that would become stories people would ask for. He raised his children to work hard, but love the hardest. He raised them to love everyone with dignity and grace, and to seek out those that needed someone that needed a hand up. He was the kind of man that we should all aspire to be, as a friend, neighbor, husband, father, and grandfather. His kindness and warmth left a lasting impression on those most fortunate to meet him.

Bill attended Roscoe High School. He worked in his younger years at St. Regis, before retiring after numerous years at General Electric. He served in the National Guard Reserves.

Most importantly in Bills life, he was a devoted husband and father. His love for his family was immeasurable. He leaves behind a wife, he recently celebrated Fifty-Nine Years with, an admirable marriage to Diane (Booth) Foster. His spirit will live on in his children, William Foster, Jr., Charlotte (Matt) Bantum, Brian (Darla) Foster. Bill's remarkable life will be cherished by the grandchildren he loved, Brianna, Trevor, and Cory Foster and Colton and Beau Bantum. His great grandchildren Carson, Holden, Bryer, Mylan, and Rowan. Also surviving members of his family, John and Carol Brill, Carol Booth, many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Bill in death was his parents, Robert and Nadine Foster. Siblings, Florence Jones, Roberta, Gail, Roland, and Dale Foster.

Although his earthly journey is over, Bill's life was one well lived and most loved. We find peace and comfort in knowing he has probably already mowed one hundred acres in heaven and ridden for miles on heaven's golden paths on his Goldwing motorcycle.
