William "Bill" F Shannon

April 9, 1949 — October 17, 2018

William F. “Bill” Shannon, 69, of Coshocton passed away at his home on Wednesday October 17, 2018.

Bill was born in Bowling Green, Ohio on April 9, 1949 to the late Frank L. and Patricia A. Miskimens.

He graduated from Coshocton High School in 1968 and was drafted in the US Army where he served for two years.  He retired from AEP Conesville Plant after working forty-two years as a Heavy Equipment Operator.  Bill treasured his time with his grandchildren, watching their sporting events, walks at Lake Park, going around to local garage sales and was an avid recycler.

He is survived by his three children Dave (Michelle) Shannon of Coshocton, Jamison (Robin) Shannon of West Lafayette and Katie (Stephen) Cox of Coshocton; six grandchildren Raven, Colin, Patrick, Maggie Shannon, Carlin and Cameron Cox; sister Dodie (Jim) Cooper of IL; step mother Dolores Shannon of FL; half sister Paula Shannon of FL; aunt Sandy (Dean) Kittell of Coshocton; niece Amanda (Byron) Tull; nephew John (Sherry) Cooper; numerous other family members.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his half brother Michael Shannon; grandparents Earl and Bessie Miskimens, Frank C. and Dorothy Shannon; uncle Rick Shannon; aunts Joanne (Joe) Parrish and Barbara (John) Weaver.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Sunday October 21, 2018 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM where a memorial service for Bill will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bill Eckert officiating.  Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will also be performing military honors at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Community Hospice of Coshocton, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
