Cynthia “Cindy” Jane Balderson of Kalaheo, Hawaii went into the hands of the Lord and Savior Monday, February 27, 2017. Born in Zanesville, Ohio July 2, 1957 to Alfred and Mildred “Poots” (Mitchell) Mattingly. She was a 1975 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Cindy served in the United States Navy from 1976-1996 and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3.
She is survived by her husband Gerald Balderson, Kalaheo, HI; son Stephen (Katie) Legradi, Lafayette Hill PA; daughter Gabrielle (Cory) Masaveg, Middleburg FL; step-daughter Stacy Balderson, Boise ID; step-son Robert (Nicole) Balderson, Nampa ID; Grandchildren Arabella and Gabriel Masaveg, Middleburg FL, Stevie, Sawyer and Liam Legradi, Lafayette Hill PA; Step-grandchildren Tempest, Boise ID, Benjamin, Spokane WA and Rhianna Balderson, Guam. Chloe, Emma, Ian, Jude, Peter, Andrew and Simon Balderson, Nampa ID. Also surviving are her loving sisters, Susan Barton, Naples FL, Sally Miller and Missy Vanderkam of Coshocton OH.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; her youngest son Joseph Legradi; two brothers, John and Alan Mattingly, brother in law Tom Miller, and her first spouse Stephen Legradi.
Cynthia was a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and had only her student teaching remaining for her Masters Degree in education. She moved to Middleburg FL to be close to her daughter Gabrielle and family to do her student teaching when she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Her favorite activities before succumbing to cancer were traveling to see family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren.
Cindy met her husband Gerald, also a Navy Chief Warrant Officer at the Naval Air Station Atsugi Japan in 1993 and spent many years traveling around the world.
A memorial service will be held at The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton, Ohio on April 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM. A time of visitation will be observed from 10:00 AM leading up to the service time.
Burial of Cindy's cremated remains will take place after the memorial service in Dresden Cemetery.
Following the graveside committal service, a time of celebrating Cindy's life will be held at the Coshocton Army Navy, located directly behind the funeral home, please park in the funeral home parking lot.
